History
Originally developed from sporting backgrounds and civilian concepts, the field of K9 training within the Law Enforcement (LE), Government (GOVT) and Military (MIL) working dog fields, dates back to origins and knowledge from civilian dog trainers. It is a respected part of police dog history.
Over the decades these methods ingrained themselves amongst many LE/GOVT/MIL agencies that relied heavily on civilian based dog training experts, whilst their service dogs were being utilised in 'non' sporting applications, such as criminal apprehension, riot control and drug detection to name a few. Now the experience and expertise within LE/GOVT/MIL spheres has matured and evolved into it's own right, with competent and experienced LE operators and GOVT & MIL K9 trainers around the world taking up the mantel of training Police & Service dogs & handlers. Relevant & current K9 training methods, that now enhance K9 team capabilities, save lives and 'bullet proof' training outcomes for 'real world' applications. The future of Law Enforcement, Military & Government K9 training as we know it, is now changing. 'The Dawn of a new era'.
